48 Flood Victims Discharged After Treatment in Rasuwa, 72 Still Undergoing Care

Kathmandu. Of the 136 injured admitted to various health institutions due to the sudden flood in Rasuwa, 48 have returned home after treatment so far. According to the report published by the Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit under the Ministry of Health and Food Security, 72 people are still undergoing treatment while 14 have been referred to other hospitals. A total of 2 people have died during treatment and upon arrival at the hospital due to the flood. There is data that 53 injured were treated at Rasuwa District Hospital, 37 at Teaching Hospital Kathmandu, and 17 at Trishuli Hospital Nuwakot. Due to the flood, the health infrastructure in this area has also suffered great damage. Four health institutions, including Syabrubesi Health Post, Timure Health Post, Timure Health Desk, and Mailung Community Health Unit, have been completely damaged. Similarly, Baireni Hospital and Charaudi Basic Health Service Center have been partially damaged and are currently unable to operate. Access roads to Dhading Hospital and Trishuli Hospital have also been obstructed. Relief and management work from the health sector have been expedited. Coordination has been done with the World Health Organization and the Nepal Red Cross Society for body management bags.
