Bangladesh Seeks Clarity on Ex-PM Hasina's Virtual Address from India

Dhaka. The Bangladesh government has sought clarification on the virtual address that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in exile in India, is scheduled to give from New Delhi. Bangladesh has warned that allowing a fugitive accused to engage in political activities from Indian soil could negatively impact the improving relations between the two countries.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam told reporters on Monday that Bangladesh wants to move forward with relations between Bangladesh and India focused on the future. She mentioned the need for India to publicly clarify its stance on this matter.
