Dhaka. Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has reiterated her commitment to return to her country, signaling that she will remain active in politics even while in exile. Analysts interpret her recent statements as an attempt to unite Awami League supporters, maintain the party's political influence, and preserve her relevance in national politics.

Hasina, 78, who is in exile in India, had expressed her desire to return to Bangladesh by the end of the year in an interview with AFP in July. She stated that she wished to return to her country at the urging of the people, despite being aware of the possibility of arrest, imprisonment, or even losing her life.
