Kathmandu. Supreme Court Chief Registrar Bimal Poudel has claimed that Nepal's judiciary is fully independent, capable, and impartial. Speaking at a meeting of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, Chief Registrar Poudel clarified that there should be no doubts about the independence of the judiciary. He depicted the judiciary as the guardian of the rule of law and stated that this institution is the main pillar of constitutionalism. 'The judiciary is carrying out its functions in accordance with the values and norms of the rule of law,' he said, 'There is no interference from any quarter whatsoever.' Providing information that various internal reform measures are being undertaken to make the judiciary more responsible and transparent, Poudel stated that the judiciary itself has formulated and implemented the code of conduct for judges. He mentioned that the judiciary has formulated its own strategic action plan and is implementing it in a way that cannot be questioned from anywhere. Chief Registrar Poudel said that ensuring access to justice and preserving the faith and credibility of the judiciary are their main priorities. He said, 'The judiciary is an institution that stands on the faith of the people rather than on criticism or praise. It is the center of people's faith, and we are committed to preserving it.' He assured that work is being done according to the strategic plan to make judicial governance and the process of justice delivery more effective, and expressed confidence that the judiciary is fulfilling its responsibilities with full integrity.
