Nepali Congress Criticizes Government Actions on Press Freedom and Democracy

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has expressed serious objection, stating that the government has increased activities against press freedom and democratic conduct. Party spokesperson Devraj Chalise, speaking at a press conference at the party's central office in Sanepa on Wednesday, alleged that the state power is being misused to silence the press and the opposition.

Spokesperson Chalise stated that the attempt to suppress press freedom by state power is regrettable for democracy.
