Dhanakuta District Hospital, once a well-equipped facility in the Koshi Province, is currently struggling. The hospital is facing problems with its physical infrastructure, which has affected its service delivery to the general public. The hospital administration stated that the old and dilapidated hospital building is unable to provide the expected services to the citizens.
Despite a significant patient load, the hospital faces various challenges due to a lack of adequate physical infrastructure, informed Dr. Santosh Rai, the hospital chief. The hospital conducts health check-ups for 300 to 400 patients daily. Currently, there are 6 specialist doctors, 4 medical officers, 2 central officers, and 20 nurses working at the hospital.
