General Santos International Airport Operations Temporarily Suspended After 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Philippines

Kathmandu. General Santos International Airport's operations have been temporarily suspended after a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Philippines on Monday. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines stated that this decision was made prioritizing the safety of passengers, staff, and air services.

According to a public notice issued by the authority, a detailed technical inspection and evaluation of the airport's air navigation systems, communication equipment, runway, terminal building, and other operational infrastructure has been initiated following the earthquake. Flight services will not resume until it is confirmed that the airport operations are safe.
