Kathmandu. The Progressive Democratic Party has formally split. The two main factions of the party have agreed to embark on separate political journeys, concluding that it is not possible to move forward in a unified manner due to ideological, political, and organizational differences that arose within the party.
This party was formed on December 7 by the merger of the Nepal Socialist Party (New Force), the Progressive National Campaign, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (rebel group), and the Gen-Z group. However, due to practical difficulties in continuing the changed political situation and organizational structure after the election, both sides have decided to separate with mutual respect. As per the agreement reached on Wednesday, both sides will now conduct political activities with their own existence and identity.
