Pokhara. Eight years ago, there were wide traffic islands in Pokhara's main intersections, and the roads were narrow. As movement became difficult, those islands were demolished in 2074 BS.
The islands in places like Prithvi Chowk, Amar Singh Chowk, Mustang Chowk, Birauta Chowk, Zero Kilometer, and Harichok also had statues of martyrs and various personalities. In 2076 BS, the National Personalities and Martyrs Park was built in Jamunbot, Pokhara Metropolitan City-18, with statues of Prithvi Narayan Shah, former tourism minister Rabindra Adhikari, martyrs Bhimsen Dahal, Yogendra Man Sherchan, and statues collected from the intersections.
