KATHMANDU. US President Donald Trump has expressed expectations that the ongoing conflict with Iran will end soon. Responding to journalists' questions about energy prices, Trump stated that the war would end 'very soon' and expressed the opinion that this situation 'cannot go on for a very long time'.

Meanwhile, the US, Iran, and Oman are nearing a temporary agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Talks are progressing among the three countries with the expectation that tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, considered one of the world's important energy routes, can be reduced. If an agreement is reached, regional tensions could decrease, and concerns about oil supply in the global market might also lessen somewhat.
