Designed to curb tax evasion, increase market transparency, and promote digital payments, the inaugural lucky draw held on Friday has turned 16 lucky Nepalis into instant millionaires. The initiative targeting consumers making personal purchases aims to bring actual market transactions into the national tax bracket under a procedure approved by the Ministry of Finance.

Under this program, two distinct award tiers have been established. One daily winner is selected to receive Rs 133,334, resulting in a net payout of Rs 100,000 after a mandatory 25% contingency profit tax deduction. Additionally, a bumper prize is awarded every 15 days, granting one winner Rs 1,000,000, netting Rs 750,000 after tax.
