Ministry Seeks Feedback on Recommended Dalit Surnames

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Social Security has published a list of surnames recommended by the National Dalit Commission and sought opinions and feedback from representatives of concerned bodies and citizens.

The National Dalit Commission had sent details of surnames for listing the Dalit community in accordance with the prevailing laws, along with its recommendations, to the Ministry. Based on these recommendations, the Ministry has published the list to gather suggestions from the concerned community, individuals, organizations, experts, and the general public before finalizing the surnames.
