California. Jackie, the famous 'Bald Eagle' (American eagle with a white head) watched by millions of people for years through live cameras in California's Big Bear region, is in a serious health crisis.

Although there has been some improvement during treatment, the latest blood test shows her anemia has become severe again. Jackie is currently under the supervision of veterinarians at California's 'Ojai Raptor Center'. In the latest test, her Packed Cell Volume (PCV) has dropped to 13 percent. Just a few days ago, this had reached 17 percent. PCV measures the proportion of red blood cells in the blood. A drop in this indicates that her anemia has worsened.
