Palata Hospital Services Halted After Attack on Medical Staff

KATHMANDU. Services at Palata Hospital in Thirpu, Palata Rural Municipality-9, Kalikot have been shut down. The hospital has been closed indefinitely after doctors and nurses working at the hospital were assaulted and the hospital was vandalized.

Dhanprasad Neupane, the health coordinator of Palata Rural Municipality, confirmed that the hospital has stopped services. The hospital administration stated that local individuals physically assaulted Medical Officer Dr. Ali Haider Rain and Staff Nurse Shanta Giri inside the hospital premises last Friday afternoon.
