Koshi Province Government Expansion Underway Amidst Coalition Talks

Biratnagar. Preparations for the expansion of the Koshi Province government are intensifying following a three-point agreement between UML and NCP. In the first round of discussions last Friday, NCP demanded that their party should receive ministry allocations equivalent to the current status of Congress in the government.

Indra Bahadur Angbo, leader of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) parliamentary party, stated that his party should receive a number of ministries comparable to those held by Congress. 'Discussions on ministry allocation have not even begun. However, in informal preliminary talks, we have stated that we will join the government with the same status as Congress, otherwise we will not,' Angbo said.
