End Power Struggles In Provinces

Nine long years have passed since Nepal embraced the federal system of governance with three tiers of government (federal, provincial and local). As the topmost tier of federalism, the federal government has the prime responsibilities of looking after national security, handling foreign relations, formulating national budget, overseeing national monetary policy and central taxation, and implementing mega infrastructure projects. It also enacts essential national laws and enhances intergovernmental cooperation and resource sharing. The Constitution of Nepal, 2072 has the provision of seven provinces and 753 local bodies. Provinces constitute the middle tier of our federal democratic republic.
