Kathmandu. The body of Rabindra Mehta of Kaptanganj, Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari, who died during treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, has been at the hospital for a week. 22-year-old Rabindra Mehta died during treatment on July 19. He was injured in the riot between Hindu and Muslim communities in Dewangunj.
Rabindra's body has not been autopsied due to the inability to reach an agreement between the government and the deceased's family. The victim's side has insisted on declaring him a martyr before the post-mortem. James Karki, private secretary to Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, said that an agreement could not be reached as a specific procedure needs to be followed to declare someone a martyr.
