Mines and Minerals Bill not tabled due to lack of quorum

Kathmandu, Aug 11: A proposal seeking consideration on Mines and Minerals Bill, 2083 could not been tabled in the meeting of House of Representatives held on Tuesday for lack of a quorum.

Article 94 of the Constitution required that one fourth members (69) of the House of Representatives should be present in the meeting for any proposal to be tabled for a decision. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal shared that the bill would be tabled in the next meeting, as only 61 members were present in today’s meeting.
