Kathmandu. Infrastructure Development Committee Chairman Ashish Gajurel has stated that the government is preparing to make the transport sector fully technology-friendly within the next five years. Speaking at the 'Naima Mobility Dialogue' program organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) on Wednesday, Gajurel informed that preparations are underway to manage transportation through technology, ending the situation of dependency on the direct presence of traffic police on the road.
According to him, a system will be developed to identify vehicles and drivers violating rules on the road and take action through technology. 'We will work in such a way that there is not a single traffic policeman on the road. If anyone breaks the rules, the traffic police's job will only be to take action,' he said, 'We are working accordingly. The goal is to be fully technology-friendly in the next five years.'
