Nepal Cricket Team Departs for ACC Premier Cup with Renewed Commitment

Kathmandu. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bid farewell to the Nepali national men's cricket team in a formal program on Friday. The team was bid farewell with best wishes before departing for Malaysia to prepare for upcoming tournaments and participate in the ACC Premier Cup. Speaking at the program, national team captain Sandeep Lamichhane expressed his commitment to learn from the weaknesses in past games and perform better in the future. He admitted that some recent foreign tours did not go as expected, stating that the results did not favor them due to good play from the opposition and some technical errors on their part. He said, 'In the past, we faltered in many places from the level of performance we should have achieved. It is natural for us to be criticized, and the only answer to that is to perform excellently on the field. Now we will forget the past and move forward with a new plan.' The Nepali team is heading to Bangalore, India, for further preparation. Captain Lamichhane believes that the special training, which will last for 10 days there, will help them get accustomed to the conditions in Malaysia. He informed that the team has a good mix of experienced and new generation players and all players are ready to take the field with high morale. Speaking about leadership changes and the team's internal rhythm, Captain Lamichhane said, 'Even with leadership changes, our common goal is to make Nepal win. It is my responsibility to take the legacy established by Rohit Paudel to greater heights. Team unity and trust are our main strengths. Our main goal is to win the ACC Premier Cup and bring the trophy home. To establish Nepal as the strongest associate nation in the world, we need to perform balanced and excellent cricket not only on home soil but also on foreign land.' Recalling the experience of playing in the Asia Cup for the first time, he said that they are departing for Malaysia with the aim of repeating that success.
