Air India Captain's Marijuana Test Positive Raises Aviation Safety Questions

New Delhi. The report that Air India's captain's 'marijuana-use test report' came back positive after a plane suddenly dropped about 91 meters during a flight has raised new questions about India's aviation safety. However, the result has not been officially confirmed yet. Even if confirmed, a positive test result does not prove that the pilot was under the influence of marijuana while flying.

An Air India Airbus A320 aircraft, flying from Phuket to New Delhi on August 4, suddenly dropped about 91 meters. There were 137 passengers and eight crew members on board. Although 13 passengers and four crew members were injured, the plane landed safely in Delhi.
