Four-Wheeled Vehicles Barred on Sharda Barrage as Mahakali River Water Level Exceeds Danger Mark

Kanchanpur. Four-wheeled vehicles have been stopped from operating on the Sharda Barrage after the water level in the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur crossed the danger level. According to the chief of the Area Police Office, Gaddachauki, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jeevan Gurung, four-wheeled vehicles have been stopped from operating since Monday morning after the water level in the Mahakali River exceeded one lakh cusecs. He informed that according to the measurement at 9:00 AM, the water flow in the Mahakali reached one lakh fourteen thousand cusecs. The Indian side has been stopping the operation of four-wheeled vehicles on the Sharda Barrage after the water flow reached one lakh cusecs. Similarly, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that excessive rainfall has been occurring in places like Baitadi, Kanchanpur, Kailali, and Bardiya recently. The department has urged to take precautions as the water flow in the Mahakali River and small rivers in Kanchanpur is expected to increase significantly.
