Kathmandu. The Flood Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that although the water level in the major rivers of the country is below the alert level, there is a risk of flash floods in small rivers flowing through dozens of districts.
According to the bulletin issued by the division at 8 am on Monday, there is a moderate risk of floods in small rivers in about three dozen districts of the country today. Today, the water level in Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, and Mahakali rivers is below the alert level. Similarly, the flow in the Kankai, Kamala, Babai, East Rapti, and West Rapti rivers is also normal, the division has clarified. Although there is no immediate major risk in the major rivers, special caution has been urged around the rivers and streams in various districts throughout the day today.
