Ferrari's First Electric Car Sells for $40 Million at Auction

California. Italian luxury car manufacturer Ferrari's first fully electric car has been sold for $40 million. The car, sold for charitable purposes at an auction, has become the most expensive car ever sold at a new car auction.

It is reported that the entire amount received from the auction organized by RM Sotheby's in California will be spent on the educational programs of the Ferrari Foundation. The car sold at auction is a special edition 'Luce', which was presented as Ferrari's first production chassis.
