MP Shriram Neupane Highlights Need for Clear Energy Policy for Electric Kitchens

Kathmandu. National Independent Party MP Shriram Neupane has stated that it is ironic for a country with abundant hydropower potential to face a shortage of cooking gas and remain dependent on imports.

Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, he mentioned the lack of a clear energy policy, law, and vision to lead the country towards clean electric kitchens. He emphasized the need to shift 95 percent of Nepali kitchens away from imported gas, firewood, and cow dung to electricity.
