Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party MP and former minister Barsman Pun has drawn the government's attention to contemporary public interest issues and sought answers to various questions. Speaking for a special time in Tuesday's House of Representatives meeting, he criticized disaster management, market shortages, and the government's double standards.
MP Pun stated that although monsoon-induced disasters caused significant damage in districts like Jajarkot, Rolpa, and Baglung, the rescue and rehabilitation work has been slow. He commented that it was irresponsible for a minister to travel to Kathmandu by state helicopter for a common cold when citizens in Karnali were unable to get paracetamol and those affected by disasters were waiting for rescue. He questioned, 'Is the life of a minister not as valuable as the life of a citizen in Karnali?'
