Myagdi. The road connecting Pok-Neta-Arman-Kimchaur in Mangala Rural Municipality-5 and Baglung's Tarakhola will be upgraded. This plan, included in the Gandaki Province government's fiscal year 2083/84, is being upgraded through a multi-year contract process. For this, a survey has been started in the presence of representatives and consumers. The survey was attended by Gandaki Provincial Assembly member Resham Bahadur Jugjali (Subin), Mangala Rural Municipality Chairman Satprasad Roka, Infrastructure Development Office Myagdi Chief Senior Divisional Engineer Dr. Mahendra Baniyal and other technicians, Mangala-5 Ward Chairman Bhupendra Khatri, Ward Member Guptabahadur Roka, local leader Chandrapasad Budhathoki, Prem Magar, and residents of the affected area. Under the Gandaki Province government's policy of awarding a multi-year contract by ensuring a budget source of Rs 5 crore based on the recommendation of the directly elected MP in a constituency, this road project has been recommended for the current fiscal year based on the recommendation of Provincial Assembly member Jugjali. The Provincial Government is preparing to award a multi-year contract by ensuring a budget source of Rs 5 crore for this project for which a budget of Rs 1 crore has been allocated. He informed that the plan has been selected with the objective of improving difficult sections as it is a strategically important road in Myagdi and connects to Baglung district. He said, "This road was also upgraded in fiscal year 2079-80 through the province government's 'one constituency, one agricultural road' program with a budget of Rs 1 crore." Infrastructure Development Office Chief Baniyal stated that the upgrade will include grade and alignment improvement, drain construction, gabion wall construction, and paving in difficult sections of Matebagar-Pok, before the turn ahead of the motorable bridge to Pok, Neta's turn, Khola Kharka, and Arman area through this year's budget and the plan to be implemented. He said that the cost estimate will be prepared based on the survey and the tender will be invited after the Ministry of Finance ensures the source of funds. Mangala Rural Municipality Chairman Satprasad Roka and Ward Chairman Khatri thanked MP Jugjali for prioritizing and bringing the important but overlooked road project into the plan and said they would facilitate its quality and timely completion and effectiveness. Although basic improvement work has been done in the Pok-Gahate section of this road, which opened in 2064 BS, the journey has been difficult due to the unpaved Neta-Arman-Kimchaur-Tarakhola section and uneven grade and alignment. MP Jugjali said that the upgrade will be done with the available budget, and efforts will be made with the government to upgrade the remaining places.
