Rautahat. A three-year-old girl has been found dead in Bhaktinagar of Jitpursimra Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Bara. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the girl was lured with the temptation of chocolate, then raped and murdered, police said. The police received information on Tuesday evening around 5:45 PM that a girl, whose name, surname, and residence were unknown, was found dead inside an empty room of a one-story house with a tile roof in Bhaktinagar, owned by Bir Bahadur Rokaya. Upon receiving the information, a team including DSP Dilip Chhetri from the Area Police Office Simra reached the scene. A team including SP Narendra Kunwar from the District Police Office Bara also reached the scene and began an investigation, police said. During further investigation, a team including a trained dog from the Provincial Police Office Birgunj was deployed. Further investigation revealed that the deceased girl was Garima Chaudhary, the three-year-old daughter of Manmati Chaudhary, residing in Dasdhuri, Jitpursimra-1. According to police, Garima had gone missing from home around 8:30 AM on Shrawan 31. Preliminary investigation revealed that Suman Thapa, approximately 16 years old, son of Bhim Sen Thapa, residing in Jitpursimra-2, and co-driver of the magic vehicle numbered Na. 1. Ja. 7758, lured the girl with chocolate, took her to the scene, and then committed rape and murder, police said. Police have arrested Suman Thapa and Progres Chaudhary, 24, a resident of Jitpursimra-1 and owner of the magic vehicle numbered Na. 1 Ja. 7758, on suspicion of involvement in the incident. Police said further investigation into the incident is ongoing. The District Police Office Bara stated that preparations are being made to send the body of the deceased girl for post-mortem and further legal proceedings.
