66 Deaths from Snakebites in Four Months

Kathmandu. 66 people have died from snakebites in the last four months. According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Department of Health Services, 66 people have died across the country from Baisakh to date. Similarly, nine hundred and fifty-six people have been bitten by snakes during this period.

Only 10 to 12 out of every one hundred people bitten by snakes show the effects or symptoms of venom. Patients with confirmed venom symptoms must be treated immediately with antivenom (anti-venom vaccine).
