Judicial Council Meeting to Decide on Judge Appointments

Kathmandu. The Judicial Council is preparing to hold a meeting to make decisions on various issues including the appointment of judges to the Supreme Court and High Courts. According to sources from the Judicial Council, the Judicial Council meeting is scheduled to be held today to discuss issues including judge appointments.< /p>

If a consensus decision is reached in the Judicial Council meeting, a decision will be made on the issue of judge appointments. If the issue of judge appointments is not finalized, discussions will be held on various other issues. The body that recommends Supreme Court judges includes Chief Justice Dr. Manojkumar Sharma, senior-most Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla, Law Minister Sobita Gautam, along with Maheshkumar Nepal (appointed on the recommendation of the Prime Minister) and Damodar Khadka (appointed on the recommendation of the Nepal Bar Association) as members.< /p>
