National Assembly Discusses Bill to Revive Nepal Special Service Act, 2042

Kathmandu. A theoretical discussion was held on the 'Bill to Revive the Former Provisions of the Nepal Special Service Act, 2042' in Friday's National Assembly meeting. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, on behalf of Prime Minister Balen Shah, presented the bill received with a message from the House of Representatives for consideration.

Participating in the discussion, MPs expressed their views for and against the move to shift the National Investigation Department from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers' Office. During the discussion, MP Padam Bahadur Pariyar expressed concern that centralization of power could lead to irregularities.
