Flood Swept Away Four Hydrological Stations as Bhotekoshi Surge Raced Downstream

Kathmandu. A massive flood that entered Nepal’s Bhotekoshi River from Tibet, China, on Wednesday morning swept away four hydrological stations in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, disrupting crucial water-level monitoring as the flood rapidly moved downstream.

The flood entered the Bhotekoshi River at around 9 am and travelled through the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems within a few hours. According to the Flood Forecasting Division, the Bhotekoshi and Syafrubesi hydrological stations in Rasuwa, the Betrawati station in Nuwakot and the Furke station in Malekhu, Dhading, were washed away.
