UN Secretary-General Welcomes Extension of Lebanon-Israel Ceasefire

Kathmandu. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has welcomed the decision to extend the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel for 45 days. He expressed confidence that this step will play an important role in maintaining peace in the border areas and reducing the suffering of the affected citizens.

According to a statement issued by the United Nations Press Office, Secretary-General Guterres has supported all efforts to end the conflict and urged special attention to the security and humanitarian assistance of the communities living in the border areas between Lebanon and Israel. The border line was determined by the United Nations in 2000.
