Heavy Rains Cause Landslides, Disrupting Major Highways Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Due to continuous heavy rainfall in the past few days, floods and landslides have occurred in various parts of the country, blocking major highways. According to the latest data from the Nepal Police, traffic has been affected on many road sections in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

In Bhojpur of Koshi Province, the Mid-Hill Highway has been affected by floods, where one-way traffic is currently being operated using alternative routes. Similarly, the Mechi Highway in Ilam is completely blocked due to landslides, although alternative routes are available there.
