Energy Minister Announces Concessions for High Electricity Consumers, Infrastructure Upgrades Planned

Biratnagar. Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Shrestha has stated that preparations are underway to implement a system for providing electricity at a concessional rate to customers who consume a lot of electricity.

In a discussion with representatives of the Morang Industry and Commerce Association and the Industry Organization Morang in Biratnagar, Minister Shrestha said that the government is focused on making necessary improvements to the tariff structure to maximize the utilization of increased electricity production during the monsoon season in industries and other sectors. He informed that the government is working on making electricity tariffs more practical with the aim of reducing the production costs of industries, increasing electricity consumption, and utilizing surplus electricity available in the system domestically.
