Naagdhunga Tunnel Opens for Private Vehicles

Kathmandu. One month after its inauguration, the Naagdhunga tunnel was opened for private vehicles from Monday. According to Deputy Chief of Naagdhunga Tunnel Security Unit Kabiraj Shrestha, private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans with a capacity of up to nine passengers have been allowed to travel between Kathmandu-Dhading from 9 AM. The tunnel has been opened on a trial basis.

"We will analyze vehicle operation this week. We will understand the problems and experiences faced by drivers," Shrestha said, "After that, there is a plan to gradually allow other vehicles."
