Hetauda. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has submitted legal and political grounds and evidence to the Province Assembly Secretariat to remove the leader of the Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party, Uddhav Thapa, from his position as a Province Assembly member. In the 'document file' submitted by RPP Chief Whip Kumari Tamang to Deputy Speaker Indira Chapagain, it is claimed that Thapa has seriously violated the party's statute and parliamentary decorum.
In a letter sent to the Speaker by RPP Central Chairman Rajendra Lingden, a formal request has been made to immediately remove Thapa from his post. As mentioned in the letter, the RPP Central Working Committee had made a clear decision not to participate in the power politics of any provincial government and to remain neutral. However, leader Thapa, completely disregarding that decision and the party's official 'whip', voluntarily submitted a letter of support to the Chief Minister candidate of CPN-UML, leading to him being brought under the purview of action, the letter states.
