MP Manish Jha Raises Concerns Over Unequal Enforcement in Janakpur Land Encroachment Drive

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Manish Jha has stated that the removal of structures built by encroaching public land and ponds in Janakpurdham should not be a case of laws applying to the small but not to the large.

Speaking during an emergency session of the House of Representatives on Monday, MP Jha mentioned that bulldozers have been clearing ponds and public land in Janakpur since Saturday, and in this process, 7 ponds and 65 houses have been vacated. However, he stated that there is a fear among the locals that only the settlements of the poor will be removed in this campaign, and structures belonging to those in power will not be touched.
