Kathmandu. A large quantity of smuggled goods, including 46 iPhones and yellow metal resembling gold, brought illegally through customs evasion from Tribhuvan International Airport has been seized. In special surveillance and operations conducted over the last two days, the Airport Security Office has apprehended one Chinese citizen and one Nepali, taking control of approximately NPR 7.2 million worth of illegal electronic goods and 75 grams of gold chains.
According to airport police, mobile parts and other materials including 46 iPhones were found in the possession of 29-year-old Chinese citizen Chen Junsan, who arrived in Kathmandu from Guangdong, China via China Eastern Airlines on Bhadra 6.
