Bagmati Province Government Faces Uncertainty Amidst Intra-Party Discontent

Kathmandu. Discontent has intensified within the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) over the formation of the government and ministry allocation in Bagmati Province. The provincial government has fallen into difficulty as the dissenting faction did not participate in the Chief Minister's vote of confidence due to disagreements in ministry allocation.

The agenda of the Chief Minister Kiran Thapamagar taking a vote of confidence, scheduled for Monday, was postponed as eight out of the 26 CPN members in the Provincial Assembly appeared uncooperative. Furthermore, there was an ongoing internal dispute within the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), a coalition partner.
