Former Supreme Court Justice Girish Chandra Lal Discusses Unreleased Report and Judicial Independence

Janakpurdham. Former Supreme Court Justice Girish Chandra Lal is counted among those who have most steadfastly upheld integrity, the rule of law, and human rights in Nepal's justice sector. Born on Poush 21, 2007 BS in Suga, Mahottari, he became an Appellate Court Justice in 2048 BS, an ad-hoc Supreme Court Justice in 2065 BS, and a permanent Justice two years later.

He came into the spotlight for his long service in the justice sector when he issued an interim order on Jestha 5, 2072 BS, halting the preparation to promulgate the constitution without demarcation and naming.
