Kathmandu. The disgruntled faction of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Bagmati Province has decided to give a vote of confidence to Chief Minister Kiran Thapa Magar. This decision was made after meeting with party coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on Tuesday afternoon. The disgruntled lawmakers had expressed dissatisfaction over the alliance with RPP for power sharing and the failure to allocate ministries according to the five-point directive between the CPN and CPN-UML. According to lawmaker Ganganaarayan Shrestha, who spoke to Ratopati, the decision to give a vote of confidence to Chief Minister Thapa was made based on the agreement that the central coordination committee meeting would decide on the matter of power sharing. 'We had an ideological and political dialogue with coordinator Prachanda regarding whether or not to cooperate with RPP for power. The central coordination committee meeting will decide on this matter,' Shrestha said. 'If the meeting agrees with the decision, it's fine. If not, the vote of confidence can be withdrawn. He said, 'Give the vote of confidence now, and we will discuss the remaining issues in the meeting.' Shrestha, along with Krishna Khanal, Rajendraman Shrestha, Yuvraj Chaulagain, Ruku Chaulagain, Laxman Lamsal, Urmila Lama, and Omkumari Shrestha, who are members of the CPN Central Coordination Committee, had expressed dissatisfaction with the decision made by the center. Among these, Krishna Khanal, Rajendraman Shrestha, Laxman Lamsal, and Omkumari Shrestha are from the former Unified Socialist party, while the rest are CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmakers.
