Pakistan Mediates High-Level Talks in Tehran for Iran-US/Israel Conflict Resolution

ISLAMABAD. Pakistani officials have stated that significant progress has been made in high-level talks held in Tehran with the aim of ending the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran. Pakistan's Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held talks with Iranian officials during a one-day diplomatic visit on Monday. The Pakistani army's statement on Tuesday described the visit as part of Pakistan's diplomatic efforts to end the US-Iran conflict deadlock and find solutions for lasting peace and a permanent end to instability in the region.

During his stay in Tehran, Munir met with various Iranian leaders, including Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei. 'Detailed discussions were held on measures to prevent further escalation of tensions, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and quickly ending the conflict,' the Pakistani army stated. After the talks, Naqvi stated on social media platform X that both sides reviewed the necessary steps to bring the interim framework 'Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)' prepared with Pakistan's mediation to end the war back into implementation. According to him, President Pezeshkian openly presented Iran's concerns, and constructive discussions were held on all issues.
