Kathmandu. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has urged residents living along the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli river corridor to remain on high alert for the next 24 hours following a sudden and severe flood in the Bhotekoshi River on Wednesday.
According to the authority, the flood occurred after an avalanche in the Tibet region blocked the river, forming a temporary lake. The accumulated water subsequently broke through the blockage, triggering a sudden surge that caused extensive damage in parts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.
