South Korea Issues First Emergency 'Heatwave' Warning Under New System

Seoul. South Korea has issued its first emergency 'heatwave' warning under the new classification system implemented this year, urging the public to stop outdoor activities and keep their bodies cool.

Under the new system, an emergency 'heatwave' warning can be issued for a single day if the perceived temperature in an area reaches at least 38 degrees Celsius or the actual temperature reaches 39 degrees Celsius.
