Home Minister Sudhan Gurung States Rescue of Flood Victims as Top Priority

Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has stated that the rescue of those affected by the flood in Rasuwa and Nuwakot has been given the first priority. Minister Gurung, who is leading the search and rescue from the airport, said – ‘Our first priority is rescue.’

Minister Gurung stated that rescue would be impossible after dark, so the security forces have been focused on rescue. Gurung said that security personnel are engaged in rescue work, keeping the locals of Timure, Syaphru, Rasuwagadhi in Rasuwa and locals of Nuwakot on high alert due to potential further risks. Minister Gurung stated that relief and temporary shelter arrangements will be made after the rescue work is completed. He said that the flood was caused by a glacier burst.
