Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for Several Districts

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged high vigilance in riverine areas, stating that moderate to heavy rainfall is occurring in various districts of the country. According to a special bulletin issued at 1:30 AM on Thursday, moderate to heavy rainfall has been occurring in Lamjung, Tanahu, Gorkha, Dhading, Sindhupalchok, and surrounding areas in the last 1 to 3 hours.

The department has stated that as there is a possibility of further rainfall in those areas, the water flow in major rivers including Marsyangdi, Budhigandaki, Trishuli, and Bhote Koshi, as well as other small and large rivers flowing through that area, may increase suddenly.
