Sangeeta Pahadi Aryal Reinstated as Nepal Telecom MD After Acquittal

Kathmandu. Sangeeta Pahadi Aryal has been reinstated as the Managing Director of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (Nepal Telecom). Pahadi has returned to her responsibilities after being acquitted by the Special Court in a corruption case. The suspension of Pahadi was lifted and she was reinstated in Telecom as per the ministerial decision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology dated Ashad 26. She was suspended due to the allegations against her earlier. Addressing the employees during a special program organized for the assumption of office, Managing Director Aryal said that there is no need to fear anyone to work with dedication for the benefit of the organization and the country. She mentioned that the cloud of allegations against her and the confusion created in the past has finally cleared and the truth has been established. She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the entire team that provided efficient leadership to the organization in her absence. Speaking about the future course of action, Aryal pointed out the need for procedural reforms in the company. She expressed her commitment to work in the coming days by considering both internal aspects and external perspectives. Her plan is to further strengthen the public's trust in Telecom and the market's reputation by remaining steadfast in accordance with the spirit and guidance of the Government of Nepal. Aryal resolved to make Telecom's services more customer-friendly and stated that the company will always be committed to providing quality services to its customers, stakeholders, and the general public. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case in the Special Court on Jestha 25, 2082, claiming irregularities in the billing system purchase and maintenance process of Telecom. In this case, a claim of Rs 33 crore 48 lakh 17 thousand 430 was made. However, in the verdict on Ashad 25, the Special Court determined that there was no malice in the billing system purchase process.
