Kathmandu. Scientists have warned that Pacific island nations will face deepening food shortages and water crises as the world fails to meet the goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
According to a new report by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), global temperatures could rise by a maximum of 1.8 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial times. This is above the Paris Agreement's target of limiting temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
