Man Attempts Self-Immolation in Rautahat, Treatment Underway

Kathmandu. Treatment of Gautamkumar Sahani, who attempted self-immolation in Rautahat, is ongoing at Bir Hospital. Sahani had attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on his body. Bir Hospital spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki informed Ratopati that his treatment is underway in the ICU under the leadership of burn specialist Dr. Apar Lamsal.

Police stated that 28-year-old Gautamkumar Sahani of Gamhariya, Garuda Municipality-9, set himself on fire by pouring petrol on his body around 1 AM on Tuesday night. According to DSP Shankar Prasad Acharya, chief of Garuda Area Police Office, Gautam had been suffering from mental stress and depression for a few days. He attempted self-immolation by taking petrol from his own motorcycle and pouring it on his body.
